Omni Chang’an

Created under the creative direction of Zhang Yimou, Chief Director, and Sha Xiaolan, Chief Producer, Boundless Chang’an is China’s first large-scale permanent conceptual performance, meticulously produced by the entire creative team of Fengshang Culture. As the inaugural work of the Group’s Boundless series, it integrates conceptual art and cutting-edge technology, exploring a new development model for domestic permanent performances empowered by new quality productive forces.

On April 11, the much-anticipated First Shaanxi Intangible Cultural Heritage Annual Gala officially kicked off. Through online registration, public voting, expert panel review and comprehensive evaluation, outstanding cases and figures were selected. Boundless Chang’an was honored with the “Annual Typical Case” award at the First Shaanxi Intangible Cultural Heritage Annual Gala.

The performance integrates iconic Shaanxi intangible cultural heritage elements such as Shaanxi Opera, shadow puppetry and wooden puppetry with highly expressive cutting-edge technology. By combining traditional culture with new media, new technologies and new art forms, it offers audiences a unique audiovisual experience to appreciate the extraordinary charm of Shaanxi.

Notably, the three magic cube holographic LED screens were manufactured and supplied by Zhongrun Optoelectronics (Luminatii). Performers were positioned within the assembled three-screen holographic cube to deliver their acts. Following project delivery, Zhongrun’s technical team remained on-site for several months to provide support. Zhongrun Optoelectronics (Luminatii) escorted the Boundless Chang’an show, helping to illuminate the Shaanxi Intangible Cultural Heritage Annual Gala.
